Returning back home from a work trip to Seattle and I took this uninteresting photo as we line up for departure on runway 16L at KSEA.
You may not believe me, but there’s a huge volcano in this picture!

I’ve been in Seattle for the past week for one of our semi-quarterly work retreats. The weather has been absolutely perfect. Insane visibility that showed off the region’s geologic wonders.
As our plane received takeoff clearance and turned onto the runway, I was treated to this incredible view of Mount Rainier behind Sea-Tac’s control tower, draped by a lenticular cloud. Chef’s kiss.
I’ve been in Seattle this week for work. Today marks 9 years at this ol’ place! Not a bad view from the office.

I also gave a fun talk on AI — “Using LLMs for Engineering Productivity”

I was recently in Seattle for work and finally saw The Volcano from our office.

Fun fact: Seattle has to be the place I’ve most visited, outside of where I’ve lived — I’ve visited for work under 3 different companies, plus various trips to visit friends.
The flight from the Bay Area to Seattle is a wonder of geologic sights and I often found myself staring out the window and snapping pictures of All The Volcanoes! (My poor seat mates on this Southwest flight probably thought I was quite strange).
Anyway, here is Mount Shasta.
